WILL YOUR EMPLOYEES “PLAY HOOKY” THIS SUMMER???
Will your employees “play hooky” this summer due to failed childcare arrangements? A recent study cited in the Orange County Business Journal found that companies, on average, face losses of approximately $1,100.00 per year per employee due to failed childcare arrangements. With summer vacation just around the corner, after-school childcare requirements now become all-day childcare concerns. All-day childcare concerns can translate into a parent’s absenteeism, decreased morale and lowered productivity at the workplace. Clearly, quality, reliable and convenient childcare has become an issue that affects not only the employee but also the employer and co-workers.
CHILDREN’S VILLAGE
understands the demands of working parents and we pride ourselves on having found that elusive “perfect balance” so necessary in any childcare arrangement. We have a beautiful school facility (licensed for 203 students), a huge playground with a large grass area and mature shade trees and caring, trained teachers. Our studies have shown that daycare facilities located in close proximity to a parent’s workplace offer far greater benefits, to both the employer and employee, than those situated closer to home. Currently, those parents that work in the areas surrounding the Orange County/John Wayne Airport enjoy the luxury of being able to visit their children for lunch or join them for school performances and activities. In addition, those parents who commute from outside this area are able to utilize the carpool lanes (reducing the stress of traffic) and use their travel time to talk with their children about the day’s events.
Barbara Patison, owner/director of CHILDREN’S VILLAGE for the last nine (9) years (and an attorney and private accountant in
her past life) is acutely tuned in to the needs of working parents and their employers. Barbara, a working mother herself, says, “Employers also enjoy the benefits of quality childcare near
the workplace which allows for employees to stay at work “for just a couple more minutes” to finish a project rather than race out the door at 5:00 (because they know they have a 45 minute commute to go pick up
their children at daycare). Our facility is conveniently located just a couple of minutes away from most businesses in the South Coast Metro/ Orange County Airport area.”
Although CHILDREN’S VILLAGE is a fairly new member to the Irvine Chamber of Commerce, we are looking forward to becoming very
involved with the Chamber and its members. We are also looking to expand our operations with another facility possibly in the Irvine Spectrum area in the near future and would be very receptive to
receiving feedback from that business community as to their specific needs (eg; on-site vs. off-site, supplemental childcare assistance, sick-care, etc.).
“Our summer camp
for kids (up to and including eleven years old) is always a highlight of our school year. We tell parents to dress the kids in play clothes because they’re guaranteed to be tired and full of paint or sand by the end of the day, “ says Laura McCann, assistant director for
CHILDREN’S VILLAGE. (See attached Summer Camp calendar.)
If you have any questions, or would like to schedule an appointment for a tour of the school, please do not hesitate to call, Barbara
or Laura at (714) 751-KIDS. We can also come to your office for a group presentation (direct dial: (714) 751-5461). We now have openings in most of our age
groups. We look forward to serving you and your families.
Remember, when it comes to raising kids, . . . it takes a village . . . CHILDREN’S VILLAGE!
Conveniently located right off of the 55 Freeway at Dyer Rd.
